GREGG International School

GREGG International School (GIS) has guided & prepared students for life in the international community since 1986. GREGG provides a quality English-based education for international children aged 2 to12. Educating children to search for knowledge, care about their responsibilities and appreciate the cultural diversity among people has been, and continues to be, the mission of our school.

Method: At GREGG International School classes are student-centered and tailored to meet the unique needs of our diverse student body. We take great pride in our caring and professional teachers who are responsible for guiding children through both academic and personal development. Our 1:7 teacher-student ratio ensures that your child receives plenty of help and encouragement to become a successful learner in the classroom as well as our large outside play area.

Courses: GIS offers two courses of study – the International course and Bears Course. The International Course is designed for native or near native English speakers, i.e. students for whom at least one parent is a native English-speaker or the student speaks English at a proficient level as assessed by the course teacher. For families who wish to educate their child in English but do not speak English at home, GIS offers the Bears Course. This two-year course of study is designed to give non-English speaking children the opportunity to develop the language tools necessary to move them into the international course.

Location: Main campus is 3 minutes walk from Jiyugaoka station. Toyoko, Oimachi, & Hibiya Lines. New campus located in Yokohama!

Admissions: Applications are accepted year-round. Prospective student’s applications pass through a screening process and, for selected candidates, personal interviews with the parents and student.
