A New Paradigm of Luxury in Japan – Opening in 2023
Hokkaido is Japan’s untamed northern wilderness, as famous for its summer flower fields as for its legendary ski resorts. On the slopes of Mount Moiwa, Niseko’s finest gem, lies Aman’s fourth Japanese property.
Aman Niseko is the only development on the mountain, it encompasses the country’s first destination wellness retreat and 31 exclusive Aman branded Residences, set within a Quasi-National Park with unparalleled views of Mount Yotei.
The Aman Community
Aman is a community like no other, comprising like-minded, discerning individuals who live the Aman lifestyle to the full.
The thirty-one Residences on the slopes of Mt Moiwa represent a unique opportunity to become part of this select community, immersed in the remarkable natural splendour of Hokkaido. Ownership offers a private retreat in which to reconnect with nature and rediscover peace of mind, with unlimited access to the best of Hokkaido’s seasonal experiences and outdoor activities.
A home away from home
The free-standing, two-storey Residences will all have a calming linear aesthetic yet will be customised to suit individual preferences. Extensive entertaining areas, terraces and dedicated ski rooms will complement three bedrooms and a loft-like mezzanine level. The addition of home theatres, massage rooms, wine cellars, cigar rooms and Mahjong room are all possibilities.
Ownership of Aman Residences, Niseko comes with exclusive privileges, such as dedicated chef and housekeeper for each Residence, Aman’s maintenance, management and security teams, preferential access to all facilities, personal catering and concierge services to name a few.
A retreat for all seasons
Within the community, lies the luxuries of the Aman Niseko destination wellness retreat. The gracious main pavilion houses a living room, two restaurants and a private dining room, Sake bar, wine cellar, whiskey and cigar lounge, library, ski retail area, ski lockers, a boutique and a gallery.
On nature’s doorstep, this new resort will provide unrivalled access to seasonal outdoor pursuits, from skiing and snowboarding in winter, to hiking, mountain biking and river rafting the rest of the year. Befitting the onsen capital of the world, both indoor and outdoor onsen – Japanese hot spring bathing pools – will be a feature of the hotel’s Aman Spa and every Residence.
Beyond the spa reception area and lounge, the Tea Room will be a tranquil oasis within the spa sanctuary. Claiming beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, it will serve as a place of peaceful time out as well as a relaxed gathering point ideal for private functions.
Dedicated to Wellness
Every Aman is a sanctuary offering peace, harmony and a profound sense of belonging. In Niseko, the Aman Spa will be the property’s inner sanctum, where residents and guests can reconnect with nature while healing, strengthening and rejuvenating body and mind.
As well as indoor and outdoor onsen, extensive thermal spa areas will include Finnish saunas, Watsu chambers, cold plunge pools, steam rooms, hammams and a range of experience showers. A 25-metre indoor pool and an aqua fitness pool will overlook an outdoor terrace with breathtaking forest and mountain views.
Designed by the late Kerry Hill to complement its pristine natural setting, the property epitomises Aman’s devotion to detail while embodying the renowned thoughtfulness of Japanese hospitality. The architectural concept was deliberately contemporary, with subtle references to traditional design motifs of Hokkaido’s indigenous people, the Ainu.
