Iwatake, a scenic area within the Hakuba Valley, welcomes “Iwatake Terrace”, a new multi-unit residential development, designed for comfortable year-round mountain living. The 2LDK Terrace houses combine modern comfort with a thoughtful Japanese aesthetic, blending seamlessly into the local village, offering the perfect family home-base in one of Japan’s most scenic alpine regions.
Thoughtfully Designed Mountain Homes

Each property features two bedrooms with an open living and dining area on the second floor, creating comfortable spaces for daily life. The homes are built using locally sourced timber from Hakuba and the wider Nagano region, connecting residents to the natural landscape that surrounds them. Interior walls are finished with non-allergenic paint, promoting a healthy indoor environment for families and individuals with sensitivities.
The living areas and bedrooms include both air conditioning and underfloor heating systems. This dual climate control means comfortable temperatures throughout the seasons, from snowy winters to the warm summer months. All windows are double glazed, and the homes have been fully insulated to create a comfortable living environment and reduce energy costs.
Practical Features for Mountain Life

Each home includes several practical features. Built-in WiFi connectivity comes standard. The kitchen areas include refrigerators, and washing machines are provided, reducing the initial costs and logistics of moving in.
Further, each home includes a dedicated storage area large enough to accommodate seasonal items like snow tires, skis, and snowboards. This extra space means you can properly store winter sports equipment during the off-season and switch out vehicle tires as needed.
Two parking spaces are included with each property, and importantly, these spaces are snow cleared throughout winter. This practical detail removes one of the daily challenges of mountain living during heavy snowfall periods, making winter mornings more manageable.
The Iwatake Setting

Iwatake Terrace occupies a particularly scenic spot within the Iwatake area, positioned on the scenic “Seseragi Dori” Street. This perfect location is a short walk from a convenience store, a short drive to the ski slopes and moments from Hakuba International School.
Just in front of the property flows a rock stream, passing to a traditional water mill (水車の小屋), creating a peaceful focal point that connects residents to the area’s heritage. The road transforms each spring when the sakura trees that line it burst into bloom, offering residents a front-row view of one of the valley’s seasonal highlights.

Iwatake Terrace units are available on two-year fixed-term contracts starting from January 2026.
Monthly rent set at ¥200,000. The rate includes internet, 2 parking spaces and a storage space.
