By shifting and varying the size of every floor, natural sunlight fills every space and allows sunlight and breezes to also filter through, creating a unique shape to the building. The apartment design also incorporates a flexible floorplan to adapt for individual family types. With most dwellings occupying the whole floor, each floor has been given a unique characteristic by applying different traditional Japanese materials. In using black Japanese Kawara tiles, cedar wood off-formed concrete and Shikkui Japanese plaster traditional yet chic Japanese beauty can be expressed in a contemporary building. The layering of black, grey and white mirrors the aesthetic of traditional Japanese building and castles.
