Trunk Room Tokyo to use Zero Emissions Electricity

Trunk Room Tokyo, the self-storage operations subsidiary of Tokyo based real-estate company Housing Japan, announced today that it has converted the electricity used in all its self-storage facilities to zero-emissions power. This initiative helps reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions across its facilities from approximately 120 tons to zero and is a first for the self-storage industry in Japan.

First step in Addressing Sustainable Development Goals

The use of zero-emission power contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations to realize a better and more sustainable world. The Trunk Room Tokyo zero-emissions electricity initiative addresses Goal 7 (“Affordable and Clean Energy”) and Goal 13 (“Climate Action”) of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Trunk Room Tokyo continues to explore ways to address the Sustainable Development Goals throughout its business and operations.
