The Jingu-mae 6-chome Area Redevelopment Project, led by Tokyu Real Estate Co., Ltd., aims to create a new cultural hub in the heart of Tokyo. This multi-functional commercial facility will be located at the intersection of Omotesando and Meiji-dori and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. It will feature a 12-story structure with 2 basement levels, occupying a 3,085 square meter (33,200 square foot) site, situated across from the famous Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku. The facility will house shops, restaurants, and several outdoor spaces that will incorporate trees and greenery into the design.
Revitalizing the Area for a Diverse Community
The project seeks to take advantage of the unique location of the intersection of Omotesando and Meiji-dori, to create a new hub for the area. It will not only connect the surrounding bustling areas, but will also create a safe pedestrian environment, taking into account the needs of the community. The Architect Akihisa Hirata will design the exterior and rooftop of the building, which will serve as a new cultural hub, further contributing to the attractiveness of the Harajuku and Jingumae areas.

Providing a Creative Consumer Experience and Generating New Culture
The project aims to challenge the area’s status as a “historical cultural hub” by inheriting and evolving its history for future generations. The area has long been a gathering place for creators who freely express themselves, resonate with each other, co-create, and generate unique consumer experiences and culture. The project recognizes this circulation system and aims to provide a “creative consumer experience” with various creators and life communities that share their thoughts. The project seeks to generate long-lasting new culture instead of short-lived trends.
