Have you ever dreamed of living the Shonan lifestyle with a commute into downtown Tokyo in less than 60 mins?

Housing Japan is delighted to offer to market Dragon Well House – a unique and stunning house in the historic and popular coastal town of Kamakura.

Located less than a 3-minute walk to the popular family beach of Yuigahama and is convenient for local shops and train station.

This impressive 3-bedroom residence was designed by the current British and Japanese owners with the cooperation of famous local architecture firm, Gitaku.

Built over 2.5 years and completed in 2015, the house is an outstanding example of a combined western-Japanese aesthetic.

The first two floors showcase a western design influence, with the top third floor dedicated to providing a Japanese experience. Boasting high ceilings in every room and many large and attractive windows that provide a very light and airy environment.

On the first floor, the owner has designed a beautiful library with its very own fireplace, an ideal environment for reading a treasured book during a cool evening.

You’ll also find an expansive master bedroom on this floor, featuring a walk-in closet adjacent to the exceptional and large bathroom area.

The bathroom is custom designed and has been decorated with imported tiling and stonework, there are 2 separate showers and a deep bath for two.

The separate powder room with twin marble-topped basins and solid oak cabinets has also been custom designed, showcasing hand-painted and waxed oak flooring.

The second floor boasts an enviable open plan living, dining and kitchen area, a perfect environment for hosting social gatherings or simply relaxing with your family. The kitchen’s island counter is perfect for a casual breakfast with the family and a walk-in pantry has plenty of storage room to accommodate your wine cellar and culinary delights.

There is ample patio space adjoining the living area onto both the front and back of the house. The back patio has draping wisteria vines which when in bloom, further add to the attractiveness of the house.

For cooler evenings, you can enjoy a secondary large fireplace in the living area.

The third floor embodies the ambience of Japanese living with the tatami-matted room taking centre stage. The tatami room can be used as a guest room as there is an adjoining bathroom with a toilet and shower. Storage space is aplenty and there is also an additional balcony area.

Quality fixtures and fittings throughout the house, with many of the furnishings imported from both Europe and the US. Custom-designed, imported tiling and stonework in both bathrooms, the entrance hall, kitchen and outdoor areas. Top-grade Anderson storm windows and solid oak flooring throughout. The house also benefits from a high-tech, green-gas-driven water heating system and double heat exchangers that provide year-round warmth and coolness as appropriate.

The outside area demonstrates a unique feature that gives Dragon Well House its name, boasting one of Kamakura’s famous wells on the property.

The garden area provides a perfect environment to enjoy the alfresco lifestyle, featuring a small BBQ and garden shed to store your gardening tools or other small items.

There is also a huge sakura tree overhanging into the garden that when in bloom adds to a picturesque garden setting.

The property offers 2 car parking spaces – very rare in Kamakura.

Whilst the house has been designed for the owners’ comfort, it is also a perfect place for entertaining with ample space in the house or the garden area.

Dragon Well House is the perfect environment to enjoy the work/life balance.
