Park Court Akasaka Hinokicho The Tower 10F
JPY 230,000,000 (negotiable)
Park Court Akasaka Hinokicho The Tower (パークコート赤坂檜町ザ タワー) is a residential tower at 9-4-1 Akasaka, Minato-ku, next to Hinokicho Park and Tokyo Midtown. Mitsui Fudosan Residential developed it, Kengo Kuma and Associates supervised the design, and it was completed in February 2018. It has 44 floors above ground, one basement level and 322 residences.
*The building*
The design theme is hinoki (Japanese cypress), taken from the Hinokicho address. Nikken Sekkei was the design firm and Taisei Corporation the main contractor. The curved tower is clad in wood-grain aluminium fins in three tones and three angles, arranged to look lighter on the upper floors, and a planted green canopy sits at the crown. The structure is reinforced concrete, partly steel. The tower combines base isolation in the foundations and beneath the second floor with hybrid damping from an active mass damper on the roof, wall-type friction dampers and viscous damping walls. It has long-life quality housing (長期優良住宅) certification and won a Good Design Award in 2018.
*Facilities and residences*
A bamboo-lined approach leads to the ground-floor entrance and car drop-off, with a coach entrance at basement level. Concierge counters on the first and third floors handle bookings, alongside porter service and 24-hour staffed management. Shared spaces include lounges on both floors, a third-floor party library with kitchen and private room, a fitness room and showers, a View Lounge and guest room on the 27th floor, and a planted sky deck on the roof. The Green Bridge walkway runs from the third floor towards Tokyo Midtown. Some services are charged separately, and pets are permitted subject to building rules.
Residences range from one-bedroom (1LDK) to three-bedroom (3LDK) plans of about 35 m² to 204 m².
*Location and access*
Nogizaka Station (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line) is a 3-minute walk. Roppongi Station (Toei Oedo and Tokyo Metro Hibiya lines) is 9 minutes and Aoyama-itchome Station (Toei Oedo Line) 13 minutes. Tokyo Midtown, with a Precce Premium supermarket, is about 190 m (3 minutes) away, the National Art Center, Tokyo about 600 m (8 minutes) and Roppongi Hills 940 m (12 minutes).
